Rogue geektool script

Postby kfring » Wed Jun 09, 2010 5:46 am

I removed a bash script from geektool3, but its output still appears every so often in the Console.
I've checked the plists in ~\Library\Preferences\*tynsoe* and it is not inside any of them...

Code: Select all
09/06/2010 01:35:19   [0x0-0x2e42e4].org.tynsoe.geektool3[33923]     % Total    % Received % Xferd  Average Speed   Time    Time     Time  Current

Thoughts?

Did you restart geektool ?

can you by the way provide the result of :

ls ~/Library/Preferences/*geek* , and re-check any file listed here, especially org.tynsoe.geeklet.shell.plist

I've uninstalled and reinstalled geektool, as well as restarted it. Problem is persistent.

kyle@heathrow:~$ ls ~/Library/Preferences/*geek*
/Users/kyle/Library/Preferences/org.tynsoe.geektool.prefpane.plist
/Users/kyle/Library/Preferences/org.tynsoe.geeklet.image.plist
/Users/kyle/Library/Preferences/org.tynsoe.geektool3.plist
/Users/kyle/Library/Preferences/org.tynsoe.geeklet.shell.plist

None of them contain the rogue script I'm trying to track down.

Weird indeed.

There are no other places for GeekTool to search for scripts to run.

Maybe you can tell me where is the GeekTool binary that is running :
Code: Select all
ps auxww|grep GeekTool

Maybe from another user's session ? But it would not appear in the user's logs...

The problem persists ?

Can you catch the process generating those lines in ps ?

Can you send me every plist file ? GeekTool does not make its own scripts :-)
