Using DP3 there's no way to interact with the geeklets. With the control panel showing and the geeklet borders showing the white border, clicking in a geeklet brings one back to the finder rather than loading the geeklet into the properties inspector.

Workaround: editing the file ~/Library/Preferences/org.tynsoe.geeklet.shell.plist with the Property List Editor tool (that you get when you install XCode).

I just noticed that issue as well and was hoping that someone had a workaround.
